A few leaves have started to turn on one of the maple trees near us and I thought I could use a fall sweater. A cardigan of sorts, one that I could wear while pregnant and afterwards as well.

I enjoyed working on my Patons V-Neck Sweater and found the Patons Next Steps Three, Create your own Cardigan, booklet at my local Joann’s. The yarn is Shetland Chunky Tweed, which I also found at Joann’s, but on their website. If you can believe it, the store was charging $5.99 a skein but the website was running a $3.70 special!!! Add in a free shipping coupon and I got a great deal on this sweater.
The color is called Earthy Brown, and I love the little tweedy flecks of orange, yellow, and green. It fits perfectly with Project Spectrum this month and I can just picture myself wearing it with different fall /jewel colored tops underneath.
After just finishing socks that were knit in size 1 DPN’s, knitting a sweater with 10’s is quite a welcome change.

The color is BEAUTIFUL! I just saw your socks too – they’re great! I haven’t tackled sock knitting yet, and the prospect of size 1 needles scares me!
